The Southington High School art department announced three student winners through the Connecticut Region Scholastic Art Awards. This competition includes public, parochial and private schools from around the state and is the premier competition to participate in at the high school level.
Senior Lovisa Tito earned a Gold Key award for her charcoal and blue pastel self-portrait drawing. Junior Catherine Adamczyk earned a Gold Key award for her graphite skeleton drawing and a Silver Key award for her charcoal self-portrait. Sophomore Claire Cavanaugh earned an honorable mention award for her colored pencil draped fabric drawing.
All three were honored at the Connecticut Region Scholastic Art Award Celebration held at the University of Hartford on Jan. 26.
