Gene and Marion Manware recently celebrated 50 years of marriage by renewing their vows at St. Thomas Church.

Gene and Marion Manware recently celebrated 50 years of marriage by renewing their vows at St. Thomas Church.

Gene and Marion (Mirisola) Manware recently observed their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their marriage vows at St. Thomas Church in Southington, where they were first married on July 17, 1965 by the late Rev. Dawson Trenchard. The couple then celebrated with family and friends at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville.

Gene retired as an engineer from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, and Marion retired as an elementary school teacher from the Southington Board of Education. They have a daughter, Maria and Maury Mischel; sons, Paul and Amy Manware, David and Stacey Manware, and Robert and Cindy Manware; and grandchildren, Katie, Lauren, Alyssa, dan, Madison, Mitchell, Max, Julia, Mason, and Laney.
