Daniel Henderson, 50, of Middlefield was arrested by the Southington Police Department on a warrant that stems from a July 6 theft investigation at Wal-Mart on Queen Street.
The warrant alleges that a loss prevention employee observed Henderson removing a large amount of men’s clothing and men’s items from the racks and concealing the items in a shopping bag. He then was observed to proceed past all points of sale without purchasing the concealed items.
The investigation revealed that the Wal-Mart employees identified themselves and attempted to speak with Henderson, but he ran toward on of the employees in an aggressive manner, pushed past the employee, and ran out of the store. The employee reported slight pain as a result of this incident but did not require medical attention.
Henderson dropped the bag of merchandise as he was fleeing the store. The total amount of the items concealed in the bag was $187.21.
Police arrested Henderson on July 28 at 7:45 a.m. and charged him with sixth degree larceny, second degree breach of peace, third degree robbery, and third degree assault. He posted a $2500.00 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 17.
