Sapna Raghavan made history on Saturday as she became the first ever Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen of Indian descent.

The Ellington resident competing as Miss Greater Rockville’s Outstanding Teen won the statewide competition at the Mohegan Sun Cabaret Theater on Saturday. She won after competing in private interview, onstage interview, health and fitness, talent, and evening gown.

The top 5 for Saturday were 1st runner up, Miss Mum City’s Outstanding Teen Samantha Anderson of Wolcott; second runner-up was Miss Bristol’s Outstanding Teen Amanda Morelli of Wolcott; third runner-up was Miss Wolcott’s Outstanding Teen Julia Audibert of Wolcott; and fourth runner-up was Miss Cheshire’s Outstanding Teen Tara Lynch of Cheshire.

Also reaching the top 10 were Miss Plantsville’s Outstanding Teen Christina Judd, Miss Central Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen Alexandra Palmer, Miss New Haven County’s Outstanding Teen Taliyah McGee, Miss Quinnipiac Valley’s Outstanding Teen Sejal Atluru, and Miss Southington’s Outstanding Teen Allison Duffy.
