DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Former Lady Knight scorer Sarah Pelligrinelli helped lead the charge as Southern Maine rallied into the women’s lacrosse semifinals in the Little East conference tournament.
The Huskies outlasted Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) in the first round before hitting the top seeded Plymouth State women in the semifinals. Pelligrinelli scored nine times and added an assist and four ground balls in the first round and scored two more goals during a 19-13 loss to Plymouth State in the following round.
Pelligrinelli, a junior, finished with 54 goals and 11 assists. Her sixth goal of the win over ECSU elevated her to the 100-career goal plateau, earning her the game ball used to score the goal.
With one more year to go, Pelligrinelli has played in 54 games and has scored 109 goals with 22 assists (131 points). She has a career shooting percentage of .424 with a 78.9 percent on-goal percentage. She currently ranks No. 3 in single season scoring at the school and is on pace to climb the career rankings next spring.
