Library’s Winter Storytimes program is aimed at young readers

Registration begins on Monday, Dec. 29, at 9 a.m., for the Winter Storytimes program at the Southington Library. There are a host of programs aimed at children ages 10 months to 5 years.

Wonderful Ones is a program designed to strengthen the development of language and coordination skills with music, movement, stories and iPad apps for children 10-24 months of age (with their favorite adult and siblings).  This program meets on Tuesdays, Jan. 27-Feb. 24, at 9:30 a.m.

Little Dreamers is a program using stories, music, and iPad apps to engage children, ages 2-3, along with their favorite adult and siblings. The program focuses on building literacy, listening skills, and socialization skills. It meets on Mondays, 9:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m., Jan. 26, Feb. 2, 9, 23, and March 2.

Story Stars is a program designed to reinforce literacy, listening, and socialization skills for children ages 3.5 to 5 through stories, music, parachute games, and iPad apps.  Children attend these programs independently, but caregivers must stay in the library during class hours. The program meets on Tuesdays, Jan. 27-Feb. 24, at 10:30 a.m.
