An early morning fire has displaced three businesses along the Southington/Plainville line.

On Wednesday, Sept. 26, a fire broke out in the back area of Jitter’s Café, causing extensive fire and smoke damage.

“The kitchen was fully involved,” said Southington Fire Chief Harold Clark. Clark said the kitchen had jutted out the back a bit and it, along with nearby back porch, had suffered the most damage.

The building, which straddles the town line between Southington and Plainville, housed a nail salon and a holistic health center, along with Jitter’s.

With the help of the Plainville Fire Department, the Southington Fire Department had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes, Clark said.
