Parking ban in effect

Due to the ongoing snowfall and attempts to clear the roadways of snow, the Town of Southington and the Southington Police Department will be implementing a parking ban on all streets effective immediately.  The ban will remain in effect until further notice. At Midnight the normal winter month’s overnight parking ban will go into effect.

Police department issues parking ban

The Southington Police Department is implementing a parking ban in town. The ban began at 2 p.m. The ban impacts all the streets in Southington and will remain in effect until midnight. From then, the normal winter months overnight parking ban will go into effect.

The coming snow storm has already caused some cancellations and a parking ban in town. Southington schools are closed Thursday, and town offices are closed for the day. An emergency parking ban will begin tonight at midnight and last until further notice.

Due to the storm the town has instituted a winter parking ban for all town and state roads within Southington.  This ban is effective until further notice.  Any illegal parking could lead to the vehicle being ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
