The Bees: Jon Griffin continued his hot hitting against the Skeeters this season with a double and run scored in last night’s game. Overall against Sugar Land in 2016, the Bees’ first baseman is hitting .364 (8-22) with half of hits being of the extra-base variety (two doubles, one triple, one home run).

The Opposition: While Delwyn Young is only hitting .228 on the year overall, he has done very well against the Bees. In ten games, the former big leaguer is hitting .341 (14-41) with four doubles, four RBIs and has scored six runs.

RHP Cole Johnson (6-6, 2.90) | Sugar Land- RHP Jake Hale (1-1, 3.00)

Key to the Game – Cole Johnson’s dominance:In two starts against the Skeeters this season, the right-hander out of Notre Dame has yet to allow a single run in 15 innings. He shut out the Skeeters for seven innings on May 5 in the Bees’ 1-0, seven-inning win, then shut them out for eight innings at Sugar Land on June 2. Look for Johnson to continue to pitch well against the Skeeters and get the Bees their first win of the second half.
