Main artery widening was temporarily suspended at 08:50 a.m. The Highway Department crews have been diverted to salting operations, due to the freezing rain, which has caused icy roadway conditions. It is not known when the crews will return to widening the streets.
The Southington Highway Department is still plowing the roadways at this time. The goal is to plow at least one lane on each street to assist with emergency situations.
