William Oran Parker Jr., 62, of Bristol and formerly Farmington, husband for 32 years to the late Mary J. Parker (Pannone), passed away Wednesday (1/22/20). Born on July 10, 1957 in Hartford, he was the son of Bernadette Parker (Pryzwara) and the late William Parker. William (Bill) was a graduate of Central Connecticut State University where he received his BA and MS. While living in Farmington he was a member of the volunteer fire department, and the director of the Valley Christian Day Care in Unionville for over 20 years. He was an avid sports fan of the New York Giants and Boston Red Sox, and he enjoyed going to games each year with his friends and family. William is survived by his children, his son Patrick Parker and his wife Jessica of Unionville; daughters Melissa Podkowka and her husband Jonathan of Bristow, VA and Rebecca Grimm and her husband Matthew of Vienna, VA; his six adored granddaughters, Kaleigh, Charlotte and Abbigail Podkowka, Ashley and Lauren Grimm, and Madison Parker; his brothers, Gregory Parker and his wife Donna, and Douglas Parker and his wife Jo Ann; sister, Deborah Parker-Drew, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, (Jan 27, 2020) at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s church, 110 Main St, Farmington, CT. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Farmington. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that any donations be made to the Susan G. Komen foundation in honor of his late wife Mary
