Southington schools closed Tuesday

The Southington Board of Education has announced through phone calls and email that the Southington public and parochial schools, all evening classes, all extra-curricular activities and all out-of-town transportation are cancelled for Tuesday, February 12. All school offices are also closed.

Highway Department turns to salting operations, suspends street widening

Main artery widening was temporarily suspended at 08:50 a.m.  The  Highway Department crews have been  diverted to salting operations,  due to the  freezing rain, which has caused icy roadway conditions. It is not known when the crews will return to widening the streets.
