Laurette Fournier Saucier, 94, passed away, peacefully, on the evening of December 28, 2019 as a result of a short illness. She is survived by her husband Alberie Saucier to whom she had been married for 76 years.
Laurette was born in Wallagrass Maine on November 27, 1925 to Flavie and Frank Fournier, the seventh of ten children. She and Alberie moved to Southington in 1954. Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons: Clifford and his wife Susan of Southington, Eldon and his wife Carolyn of Nipomo CA, Mark and his wife Lori- Jo of Plantsville, and Kenneth and his wife Debra of Bristol. She was predeceased by her first- born, Diana Saucier Chamberland of Southington. She was most proud of her seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Laurette was a social person who loved company and gatherings with family members. After raising her children, she worked at the Southington High School cafeteria. Laurette and Al established a custom home building company which they ran for many years. She was a skilled cook, baker, seamstress, and bookkeeper. She was a volunteer at Bradley Memorial Hospital for over thirty years. She exercised at the YMCA regularly, up to her 90s. She also enjoyed Tennis and bowling. Her special joy was caring for her grand and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be at DellaVecchia Funeral home on North Main St. Southington on Friday January 3, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 7:00PM. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday Jan. 4, 2020 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church on Flanders Rd. Southington.
