Born July 7, 1934 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Hall) Wettemann.
Barbara along with her sister owned a reupholster and drapes company for many years. She loved playing cards especially long hill rummy and setback. She was an avid bowler and softball player and taught her sons to wrestle.
She is survived by her two sons, Peter Zavorskas, Jr. and wife Catherine of Aberdeen, NJ and Joseph Zavorskas and wife Beatrice of Southington; ten grandchildren, Chris Ricciuti, Kyle Conway and husband Smith, Caitlin Zavorskas and husband Matt Dolansky, Michael Zavorskas and wife Erin, James Letendre, Peter Joseph Zavorskas and wife Natalie, Stephanie Zavorskas, Carolann, Patrick and Joseph Zavorskas; three great-grandchildren, Mabel Woodward, Shea Dolansky and Gemma Zavorskas; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Wettemann of Killingworth and Patricia Wettemann of VT. Barbara also leaves many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Paul, Fran, Bernie and Bruce and two sisters, MaryLou and Josephine.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will be in the spring at St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
