As of last week Democratic candidate for the Southington Board of Finance, Donald S. Rinaldi, announced that he would be withdrawing his bid for a position in town government.

Democratic Registrar of Voters, Elaine D. Bedard, confirmed that the Democratic Town Committee will only be running three candidates for the four open positions on the BOF.

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, the Democratic line for BOF will be in the following order: Susan J. Zoni, Ryan Rogers, and Kevin Beaudoin.

According to Southington Democratic Town Committee chair Bob Berkmoes, Rinaldi had personal commitments that he had to attend to and felt that he would not be able to commit “100%” to the time necessary to be a member of the town’s finance board.

“[Rinaldi] is very devoted to Southington and would have been a great board of finance member,” said Berkmous. “Those things just happen. Sometimes your life path changes and you kind of have to make some decisions.”
