David D. Oliveira, 85, longtime resident of Plainville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at UCONN in Farmington. He was the beloved husband to Joan (Bosse) Oliveira for 62 years.
David was born in Hartford son to the late Joseph and Josephine (Abreu) Oliveira. He was an Electrician by trade and well respected in the Electrical Industry, having been the former owner of Dial Electric and Regal Electric. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a devoted Catholic, always willing to help others without expecting anything in return. A loving father, husband, and grandfather, he will be missed dearly by his entire family as he leaves them with many cherished memories.
In addition to his wife, Joan, David is survived by his children, Gary Oliveira and his wife, Susan, of Plainville, Jan Forcella and her husband, Thomas, of Wolcott, Jeffrey Oliveira and his wife, Deborah, of East Berlin, and Lynn Daley and her husband, Kevin, of Southington; his grandchildren, David, Jonathon, Victoria, Sara, Jason, Marissa, and Anthony; his great-grandchildren, Thomas and Oliver; his sisters, Laura Pohrylo and Mabel Curran; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Eddie, and Albert Oliveira.
