Obituary: Virginia ‘Vee’ Wallace, 90

Virginia “Vee” Wallace, formerly of Southington, passed away peacefully on July 25 in the presence of family and in the loving care of Country House Memory Care near Sacramento. She entered Hospice shortly after her 90th birthday in June.

Born in Southington to Nicholas and Victoria (nee Ferrucci) Celello, Vee was a Lewis High School graduate and proud member of the cheerleading squad. She married her high school sweetheart and Lewis High School football star, Dave Wallace. After moving to California in 1953 with their three baby children, Vee and Dave returned frequently to Southington for Class Reunions. They maintained strong ties with Southington family and friends for the rest of their lives.

Vee excelled in a 40-year sales career with Jafra Cosmetics, motivated by her love of helping people and a strong entrepreneurial spirit.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dave Wallace Sr., and by her brothers, William and Joseph Celello of California. Vee is survived by her children, Sky Wallace of Pioneer CA; David Wallace Jr. of West Point CA; Debbie Wallace of Tucson AZ; and by her grandson, the light of her life, Ryan Wallace of Sonora CA.

Vee will be remembered with happiness as a lively mother and grandmother, a deeply generous friend, and a person who could make everybody laugh. We will all miss her bright smile and shining eyes, her friendliness, determination and humor, and especially her talent for bringing people together.

Services will be celebrated August 18 at noon at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Westlake Village CA, Vee’s beautiful hometown for over 40 years.
