Southington woman arrested for assaulting employer with a car

Amy Florian, 38, of Southington, was arrested on Tuesday, July 10 for charges that stemmed from a dispute with her employer on Crest Road in Southington.

During the dispute, Florian allegedly threatened to take the employer’s vehicle and then locked the employer out of the residence. The police investigation revealed that during the dispute, Florian kicked the victim, knocking her to the ground. Florian then took a set of keys to the victim’s car and began to back out of the driveway.

When the victim attempted to open a door of the vehicle to stop Florian, she was dragged by the vehicle. As a result of this incident, the victim sustained scrapes to both knees, both elbows, her shoulder and sustained a hand injury. She was transported to an area medical center for treatment.

Florian was charged with evading responsibility, using a motor vehicle without permission, second degree breach of peace, third degree assault, and first degree reckless endangerment. She posted a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Court on July 23.
