Plantsville man arrested for threatening juveniles with a laser pointer

Robert Schmaling Jr., 49, of Plantsville, was arrested on Saturday, July 14 after using a laser pointer in a dispute with a group of juveniles.

The verbal dispute occurred at a local apartment complex. Schmaling didn’t believe that the group of juveniles belonged on the property, and he used the laser pointer to represent that he had a firearm.

Schmaling was charged with second degree breach of peace, second degree threatening, and illegal use of a laser pointer.He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Court on July 23.
