Ryan McCormack, 38, of Southington, was arrested by Southington police on Thursday, July 5 for an incident with a female who had a protective order against him.
According to police, McCormack was in a dispute with the victim when he was accused of pushing her head into the dashboard of a vehicle, biting her ear, and choking her to the point that she was unable to breathe. The victim sustained minor injuries from the incident, but she declined medical treatment.
McCormack was charged with breach of peace, third degree assault, third degree strangulation, and violation of a protective order. He was held on a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bristol Court on July 6.
