On Saturday, June 24, at approximately 12:19 p.m., police arrested Kevin Sobol, 45, of Southington after a domestic dispute at his residence on Union Street in Southington.
According to the investigation, Solbol was intoxicated and became verbally abusive toward a first victim. During the course of the incident, he allegedly broke two telephones inside the residence and threw a dish across a room before locking the first victim out of the residence.
That’s when a second victim arrived to assist the first victim back into the residence. When they entered the house, Sobol was reported as being verbally abusive toward both victims. He lunged at the first victim with a closed fist, making a motion as if he was going to punch.
When police arrived, Sobol was found in a wooded area a short distance from the residence. He was arrested and charged with third degree criminal mischief, second degree threatening, and two counts of disorderly conduct. He was processed and held on a $25,000 bond with a June 26 court date.
This incident was classified as a domestic violence incident, so no further details on the victims will be released by police.
