‘WACKY WEDDING’ FUND RAISER. Held by Gishrei Shalom Jewish Congegation. 6:30 p.m. Dinner theater evening. “Celebrate Moishe and Maria’s Wacky Wedding” as guests. The theater-goers will become part of the show. Four course meal, cash bar, tea cup auction, dancing. Free tea cup auction is included with each ticket sold before March 1. FILL THAT FIRE TRUCK. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Walmart, 235 Queen St. Sponsored by the Giving Back Girls. Proceeds benefit Southington Community Services food pantry. Items needed include: tuna fish, macaroni and cheese, canned vegetables and fruit, canned pasta, juice boxes, toiletries, peanut butter and jelly, snacks, pasta sauce, and cereal.

 

YMCA CAMP SLOPER CLEAN-UP. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at YMCA Camp Sloper, 1000 East St., at the McLeod pavilion. Rain date is April 8. Projects will include: trail maintenance, landscaping, raking, painting and other general clean up jobs. Bring gloves. Lunch will be provided. Children under 15 must be supervised by an adult. FAMILY FUN NIGHT – HARLEM ROCKETS. 7 p.m. at the Southington High School west gym. Sponsored by the Southington Drug Task Force. Cost for pre-sale tickets are $10 ($8 for students and seniors) or $12 at the door. The Harlem Rockets basketball comedy team will be playing against the Southington Police and Fire departments. Tickets can be purchased at DePaolo Middle School (Trish Kenefick); Kennedy Middle School (Christine Barnes); and Southington High School (Beth Hosmer). Presented by CT Council for Interreligious Understanding (CCIU). Muslim speakers will offer their experiences, raising issues that concern everyone in the community. Please bring a dish to share.
