ST PATRICK’S DAY DINNER. 6 p.m. at the Mary Our Queen Church hall, Savage St. Corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, carrots and onions, Irish soda bread, dessert, and beverage. Entertainment by the Old Tyme Bristol Fiddlers. Proceeds to benefit church’s scholarship fund. PANCAKE BREAKFAST. 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Calendar House, 388 Pleasant St. The Southington Knights of Columbus will serve a buffet-style breakfast to assist with its support of local charities. Cost is $7 (seniors and children $6, children under 6 are free). Tickets available at the door.

 

LENTEN DINNER SERIES – BLESSED ARE THE CRAZY. 12:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 37 Main St. All are welcome. Sarah Lund, an ordained minister that has served as pastor to churches in Brooklyn, N.Y., Minneapolis, Minn., and New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and will discuss the work that received her the Bob and Joyce Dell Award for Mental Health Education from the United Church of Christ Mental Health Network in 2015 for “her outstanding authorship and leadership in breaking the silence about mental illness in family and in church and offering healing and hope.” Bring a dish to share. Tickets are $30, and include a stuffed porchetta meal with wine, pasta fagioli, antipasto, ziti with meatballs, suffritto and salad. Cash bar. Proceeds benefit UNICO charities. COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS – TRUE COLORS. 6 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 37 Main St. All are welcome. Potluck supper followed by discussion comprised of panelists from True Colors, an organization that works with social service agencies, schools, and community organizations. Panel will span the spectrum of sexual orientation and gender identification, speaking about creating affirming, supportive spaces in their own faith communities. Tuesdays, March 7, 14, 21, 28, and April 4, beginning at 6:15 p.m., at Plantsville Congregational Church, 109 Church St. Each evening will begin with a light dinner followed by a program and discussion led by a guest speaker from a different religion.
