She was born in New Britain the daughter of the late Pasco and Mary (Mauro) Testa. Prior to her retirement just one year ago, she was employed at Economy Spring and Stamping for 35 years. JoAnn loved to travel, she especially liked spending time with her family at her home in South Carolina.
In addition to her husband she leaves a son Richard P. Gdovin Jr. and his wife Pina of Wallingford, and a daughter Tammie Smith of Berlin, her cherished grandchildren Alexander Gialelis, Derrick Gdovin, Demry Gdovin and Zachary Smith. She also leaves her brother, Pat Testa and wife MaryAnn, sisters Rosalyn and husband John Teardo, Toni and husband Michael Cardinale, Marylou and husband Robert Teele and brothers Anthony and Albert Romano, as well as a brother-in-law Ronald and his wife Janice Gdovin, sister-in-law Loretta Carter and several nieces, nephews and extended family, along with her beloved dogs, Nikki, and Kaycee.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt Street, Plantsville at 10 am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial calling hours will be on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 from 2-5 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St.
