A retirement party to honor Eldon Hafford, former executive director of Southington Bread for Life, is being arranged for Wednesday, Nov. 30. The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the new Southington Community Cultural Arts building, 93 Main St., on the corner of Berlin Avenue.
A presentation will take place at 7 p.m.
Hafford, who led Bread for Life as executive director since 2007, announced his retirement earlier this year.
“Eldon is a Southington gem who through his hard work and passion has ensured that no one in our town goes hungry,” said Bread for Life Board Chairman Mike Soltys in a press release. “Eldon has touched so many people and his good work has made a lasting impact in our community. We can’t thank him enough.”
The public is welcome to come offer Hafford best wishes in his retirement. Light refreshments will be served. Donations to cover party expenses will be accepted that evening.
