The game was the second meeting between both teams. Canton defeated Southington, 7-1, the first time they played back in October.
The Warriors scored four of their seven goals in the first half. The Knights took three penalty corners, but were held without a shot on goal. Amanda Delorme saved 22 of Canton’s 29 shots on goal.
Southington finished the regular season at 5-11 overall (2-5 home, 3-6 away) and 4-2 in the CCC North Region. The Knights also finished 23rd in Class L and 11th in the CCC (3rd in the CCC North). Enfield (15-1, 6-0) won the CCC North title. South Windsor (13-3, 5-1) finished as the runner-up in the region. Glastonbury (16-0) earned the top seed in the Class L tournament.
Southington was eliminated from the state tournament after suffering a 1-0 loss to Farmington (8-8) on Tuesday, Oct. 18, but the Knights won three out of four down the stretch.
