Red Cross helping homeless vets; drop items off at AAA in Plainville

The American Red Cross in Connecticut is supporting homeless veterans through the Hope for the Holidays collection drive. In partnership with Fox 61’s Expect More Hope program, in coordination with The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk and AAA Allied Offices, the Red Cross will be collecting winter weather items to be distributed to homeless veterans this holiday season.

The Red Cross is looking to collect the following items to be placed into care packages:

Socks (size large)

Winter gloves (size large and extra-large)

Knitted hats


$10 to $15 dollar gift cards to quick service restaurants

The AAA Allied Group office at 17 Farmington Ave., Plainville is accepting items Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
