After qualifying for the Class LL tournament a couple weeks ago for the first time since 2013, the Lady Knight soccer team has not stopped winning. They haven’t stopped shutting opponents out either with two more last week.

All 10 of Southington’s wins are shutouts.

Win vs. Hartford Public

OCT. 17—Southing scored four goals in a game for the third time this season when they welcomed Hartford Public to their home turf on Monday to start the week, flying past the Owls, 4-0.

Emma Panarella, Melissa Drexler, Katherine Crouse, and Michaela Nanfito each scored a goal in the game. Nanfito, Nikki Carter, Chelsea Cocozza, and Kelsey Sargent contributed with assists.

Southington took 21 shots on goal and six corner kicks, holding Hartford Public to just one shot on goal.

Win at Maloney

OCT. 21—The Knights traveled to Meriden at the end of the week where they were able to come away with their eighth-straight win with a 3-0 shutout at Maloney.

Taylor Hubert, Melissa Drexler, and Katherine Crouse each scored a goal in the game. Drexler, Crouse, and Nikki Carter contributed with assists.

Southington took 25 shots on goal and 13 corner kicks, holding the Spartans to just one shot on goal.

Southington is currently 10-3 overall and 1-3 in the CCC Central Blue Division (4-3 in the CCC Central Region). The Knights will look to extend their winning streak this week with games against Conard (4-6-3) and Avon (9-3-1).
