Festival of Trees at the Aqua Turf, Nov. 16

christmas-tree-decorated-4United Way of Southington will present its annual Festival of Trees & Traditions on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at the Aqua Turf. The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This event features donated decorated trees from individuals and organizations that are available during the auction session. Dozens of trees and other holiday items will be featured along with hors d’oeuvres, silent auction, wine raffle and a unique elves workshop.

Cost is $15 ($10 for seniors 55 and over). Anyone wishing to donate various cultural representations of the holiday season may include trees and exhibits with decorations and lights up to six feet in height. Also being accepted are wreaths, garlands, quilts, door decorations, miniature trees, menorahs, flags and other creations.

The only regulations are that the trees are artificial and items attached to trees are clearly marked and that ornaments be securely wired onto the tree.  All donations become the property of United Way. This fundraising event provides the organization with the right to sell each item at the best and most realistic price.
