TAKING CARE OF SOUTHINGTON’S TREES. 9:45 a.m. at the American Legion Hall, 66 Main St. The Orchard Valley Garden Club presents a discussion with Mike Manware, Southington’s assistant tree warden, about the goals and challenges of taking care of trees and plant life in Southington’s parks and recreational spaces. AARP MEETING. 1 p.m. at Mary Our Queen hall, 248 Savage St. A meeting for the Southington Apple Valley Chapter AARP #4943 will include a performance from The Humblebees. The meeting is open to all national AARP members and guests who might be interested in joining this chapter. Members are reminded to bring non-perishable food items for Community Services and comfort items to send to military members.

CHURCH WOMEN UNITED FALL GATHERING. 1 p.m. at St. Aloysius Church (handicapped accessible). All women of all faiths are welcome. Refreshments will be served. The theme is sharing gifts at the table.
