ZUMBA CLASSES FOR ADULTS—Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct. 3 to Dec. 12, 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., in the Plantsville Elementary School gym. Cost is $70 fee. Program details and online registration at www.southington.org/zumba.
BALLROOM, LATIN & SWING DANCE LESSONS—Wednesdays, Oct. 5 to Nov. 30, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the Plantsville Elementary School cafeteria. Cost is $50. Class size is limited. Program details and registration at www.southington.org/ballroom.
ARTS & CRAFTS (SPECIAL NEEDS)—Thursdays, Oct. 6, Nov. 3, Dec. 8, Jan. 12, Feb. 9, March 9, April 20, May 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Derynoski Elementary School cafeteria. Cost is $80 for the full session ($10 per individual class). Adults must accompany children. Online registration at www.southington.org/ArtsCrafts.
SOUTHINGTON YOUTH BASKETBALL REGISTRATION—Saturday, Oct. 8, 8 a.m. to noon, at Derynoski Elementary School cafeteria. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Open to Southington boys and girls in grades 2-12. Proof of residency is required. Cost is $70 per player ($140 family max). A parent/guardian must sign the registration form. ADAPTED SOCCER PROGRAM—Mondays, Oct. 10 to Nov. 7, 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., at the Recreation Park soccer field, 2B. Open to Southington children with special needs in grades 1-12 and focuses on a stepping-stone approach to basic soccer skills. Students must bring their own sneakers or cleats, shin guards, and water bottles. Cost is $45. Program details and registration forms at www.southington.org/soccer.
ASTRONOMY CLASSES—Thursdays, Nov. 3 to Dec. 15, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the town hall, lower level conference room, 75 Main St. Students aged 5-9 will learn about galaxies, nebulas, “dead stars,” black holes and more. Cost is $125 per child. Class size is limited. Program details and mail-in registration forms at www.southington.org/astronomy.
JUNIOR BOWLING CLUB—Saturdays, Nov. 5 to Dec. 10, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Apple Valley Bowl, 1304 South Main St. Open to children aged 6-16. Bumpers, coaching, and supervision will be available. Cost is $55 per child for 6-weeks, including shoe rental. Program details and mail-in registration at www.southington.org/bowling.
