He was born May 13, 1941, in Eastbrook, Maine, the son of the late Avis and Edgar Gordon. Ron had many interests and hobbies among which were guitar-playing (Chet Atkins), electronics, auto mechanics, computers, photography, boating, motorcycling, Nascar. He was the go-to man for questions or repairs. He moved to Southington from Maine in the mid-60s and worked for F&F Concrete Corporation, Plantsville for 15 years. He was a heavy equipment operator by trade, which he thoroughly enjoyed and worked for various companies over the years including the Army in the early 60s. Ron was a quiet, gentle and loving man with a sense-of-humor who will be missed by all who knew him.
Other than Darlene, he is survived by step-children, Michelle and Brian (Diane) (no children of his own but they compensated); three grandchildren, Kyle, Brian, and Alex; 2 sisters from Maine: Janice, Kathleen Ginn (Mark); 6 brothers: Gilbert (Cheryl), Norman (Sharon), Thomas, all of New Hampshire; also: James, Jonathan (Bertie) and David (Kathy) all of Maine.
His family would like to thank the medical professionals at the hospitals and rehabilitation centers that helped Ron recover from setbacks and remain living in his home for as long as possible.
Private services are planned under the direction of the family.
