Registration for the following classes and programs, unless otherwise noted, can be made at the Southington Recreation Department at (860) 276-6219. Checks should be payable to Town of Southington. SOUTHINGTON POOL OPENINGS/HOURS—Pools at Recreation Park and Memorial Park are open. Hours of operation are, Mondays thru Fridays, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pools are free and open to Southington residents, but residents may bring one non-resident guest. Proper ID and proof of residency is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. More info at www.southington.org/pools.

YOUTH FALL BALL REGISTRATION—Saturday, July 23, 10 a.m.-noon, and Monday, Aug. 1, 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m., at the Recreation Park baseball concession stand. Open to Southington residents ages 6-15 as of April 30, 2015. Cost is $115 for 8U, 10U and 12U; $125 for 13U and 15U.

TENNIS LESSONS—Open to Southington residents aged 4-18. Session IV: Aug. 1-11, at the SHS tennis courts. Each two-week session runs Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. (ages 4-5); 9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m. (ages 6-7); 11 a.m.-noon (ages 8-9); 12:15 p.m.-1:15 p.m. (ages 10-18) with Fridays open for rain dates if needed. Cost is $65 per session, and a smaller, lightweight racquet will be provided for children aged 4-9. More info at www.southington.org/tennis.

TENNIS MATCH PLAY—Open to Southington residents entering grades 6-12. Session IV: Aug. 1-11, at the SHS tennis courts. High school students (grades 9-12) will play from 8 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Middle school students (grades 6-8) will play from 9:45 a.m.-11:15 a.m. These two-week programs are for experienced tennis players to play against each other in an organized setting with guidance from the Park & Rec tennis coaches. SKYHAWKS TRACK & FIELD CAMP—Now accepting registration for the track & field camp for Southington boys and girls aged 7-12. The program will take place on Monday, Aug. 1 to Friday, Aug. 5, 9 a.m.-noon, at the Southington High School track. The camp will focus on the following events: long distance, sprints, soft hurdles, relays, shot put, discus, and standing long-jump. Cost is $115 per child. FAMILY MUSIC THERAPY—Tuesdays, Aug. 2-Aug. 30, 6 p.m.-6:45 p.m., in the lower level of the library. Open to Southington children with special needs and their families. Program nurtures social, physical, and emotional skills through interactive music, singing, playing instruments, and creative movement. Cost is $80 per child. SAND VOLLEYBALL CAMP—Monday, Aug. 15-Friday, Aug. 19. A one-week sand volleyball camp offered in conjunction with Elevation Volleyball Academy. Open to Southington residents, ages 7-14. The program will focus on the fundamentals of beach volleyball with game-like training in a fun and enthusiastic environment. Space is limited. Cost is $145 per child. MUSIC ON THE GREEN

Free concerts, along with a free car show, takes place every Wednesday through Aug. 31 on the Town Green. Music begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. Rain dates will be held on Thursdays. Dogs, skateboards, in-line skates/rollerblades, bicycles, scooters (gas, battery or push) and motorized vehicles are not allowed on the grounds during this event. A $25 violation fee applies. Police dogs, as well as dogs certified for use by disabled persons, are exempt.

BUS TRIPS

For additional information and cost, visit www.southington.org/BusTrips Payment is due at registration. All trips are non-smoking and non-alcoholic. Insurance is available.
