Police make second arrest for CVS robbery

Store surveillance assisted police in arresting two men in conjunction with a robbery at the CVS store on Main Street. George Meldrum, 30, was taken into custody on July 14 at the Bristol Court.

George Meldrum, 30, of Coventington, Ga., was taken into custody on Thursday, May 19, at the Bristol Superior Court by Southington police. The warrant stems from an investigation of a robbery on March 11, 2016 at the Southington CVS store at 310 Main St.

The warrant alleges that Meldrum was driven to the CVS and entered the store at 5:41 a.m. to commit the robbery. During the course of the robbery, Meldrum told the victim to open up the cash drawer and give him all the money. The victim felt as if the suspect had implied that he had a weapon in his pocket.

It was reported that approximately $199.64 was taken from the register. No one was injured. After the robbery, Meldrum fled the scene in a vehicle driven by Jeremey Wills, 30, of Wolcott.

Wills was arrested on May 19, 2016 his involvement in this incident. He was also served his warrant at the Bristol Court.

Meldrum was arrested and processed for second degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second degree robbery, sixth degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit sixth degree larceny. He remained in custody.
