Depaolo Middle School announced the names of its May students of the month. In sixth grade, Luke Meade, Madison Chapman, and Lauren Scarpa were selected by their teams.

Luke is the son of Peter and Jean Meade and has earned high honors at DePaolo. He was a STEPS student leader in fifth grade and volunteered at Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Apple Harvest Festival. Luke plays football, basketball, and baseball for the town.

Madison is the daughter of Hope and Steve Chapman and was recognized for academic achievement by two of her teachers. She volunteers at the Southington food pantry and volunteered at the “Bark for Life.” Madison is in the young authors and sings in the concert choir.

Lauren is the daughter of Michelle and Eric Scarpa and has consistently been an A student. Lauren is in the art club, young authors’ club, and is a dancer.

In seventh grade, Jordyn Rogala, Jada-Lynn Vercosa-Bennett, and Rachel Possidento were selected by their teams.

Jordyn is the daughter of Josie and Doug Rogala and was recently inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. She is part of the ABC club, Leadership Program, and is a peer advocate at DePaolo. Jordyn is in the school orchestra and ran on the school cross country team.

Jada-Lynn is the daughter of Barbara and Daniel Peace and has earned high honors both trimesters this year. She volunteers at Zion Nursery School as part of the Leadership Program and is in the Young Authors’ club. Jada-Lynn is also in the small business club.

Rachel is the daughter of Stephen and Stephanie Possidento and was recognized at a Principal’s Breakfast. She played on the school volleyball team, is in the sign language club, and is part of the Leadership Program. Rachel is a part of the Southington soccer club.

In eighth grade Jolene Lacasse, Abigail Abram, and Megan Mikosz were selected by their teams.

Jolene is the daughter of Angela and Gerry Lacasse and is in the National Junior Honor Society. She is a girl scout and sings in the school concert choir. Jolene volunteers at Zion Nursery School as part of the Leadership Program.

Abigail is the daughter of Barbara Klimaszewski and Todd Abram and was recognized for academic achievement in Spanish in grades 7 and 8. She is in con brio and part of the ABC team. Abigail helped with Dimes for Downes and volunteered at Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Apple Harvest Festival.

Megan is the daughter of Christine and DJ Mikosz and has consistently been an honor roll student. She volunteered at Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Apple Harvest Festival for the past three years and assisted at basketball camps for fifth graders. Megan was a part of the Leadership Program for the past three years and was on the volleyball and basketball teams for DePaolo.

In Unified Arts Maya Wroblewski, Brycen Kennedy, and Emma Panarella were selected.

Maya is the daughter of Anna and Cezary Wroblewski and was recognized at a Principal’s Breakfast. She assists her neighbors with yardwork and cares for their pets. Maya is in the Leadership Program and plays soccer.

Brycen is the son of Melissa and Christopher Kennedy and has consistently earned high honors. He volunteers for athletic events at St. Paul’s Catholic High School, was in drama club in sixth grade, and sings in the school concert choir. Brycen also plays football and lacrosse for the town.

Emma is the daughter of Sherri and Craig Panarella and has consistently been an honor roll student. She is a peer advocate and part of the Leadership Program. Emma played on the school soccer team and is on the softball team as well.
