Town seeks engineering consultant

The Town of Southington is seeking the services of a Consulting Engineering firm to assist with plans for transportation projects.

The firm should be able to provide on-call services that include the development of designs and construction plans, and cost estimates for bridge rehabilitation, road repair, intersection improvement, drainage improvement, or sewer relocation projects The firm may also be required to provide survey or construction inspection, and to prepare environmental documents and DOT required records or documents.

Applicants will be evaluated based on past design experience, reports of service and technical competence, and must express an understanding of federal, state, and municipal procedures.

Personnel in charge of the projects must possess and maintain a valid Connecticut Professional Engineer’s License. The selected firm must meet all municipal, state, and federal affirmative action and equal employment opportunity practices. All interested applicants should also submit a statement detailing the organizational structure of their firm, including any relationships to parent of subsidiary firms. A design fee will be negotiated for each project assignment.

Applications should include a letter of interest of no more than two pages, and the following information: an introduction, relevant experience and client references, project understanding and approach, organization chart and key personnel, federal form 330, and a company brochure.
