The public is invited to enroll 3- to 5-year-old children in the Early Childhood Center of Tunxis Community College in Farmington. The preschool program is one of a select “high-quality” group in the nation accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It provides full- and part-time preschool experiences in a program of excellence.
Teaching staff all hold college degrees in early childhood education. They encourage the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of children through play and hands-on experiences in a safe and nurturing environment.
Full day care is available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday. There are also a variety of options available for part-time enrollments. The Center is in operation September through June. Registrations are taken on a slot-available basis.
“Working alongside families to provide fun, quality early learning experiences for their children is a point we are proud of,” said Joyce Voisine, acting director of the Center. “The children’s day is a mix of fun activities including planned curriculum, exploratory learning activities, and social interaction to help them prepare for kindergarten.”
