Police have made an arrest for the attempted robbery at Liberty Bank in Southington. On June 10, Dennis Dean, 45, last known to live in Southington, was taken into custody at Bristol Superior Court.

The warrant alleges that on April 16, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Dean attempted to rob the Liberty Bank at 60 North Main Street. The investigation found that Dean entered the bank and handed the teller a note, but as the teller was opening the cash drawer he took back the note and left the bank without any money.

The Southington Police Department was assisted by the Meriden and Middletown Police Departments during this investigation. The warrant was served in Court and there is no mugshot of Dean available.

Dean was processed and charged with second degree criminal attempt to commit robbery. He is currently incarcerated at the Hartford Correctional Center, and he remained in custody on this charge and other pending criminal charges against him.
