To the editor:

One of the most precious gifts we pass onto our children is our faith. We are fortunate to have Southington Catholic School providing education from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

I had the privilege of being educated in Catholic schools and providing the same to my two children. I can attest that integrating the Christian faith and Catholic doctrine with traditional academics produces a very impactful education with lessons that last a lifetime. Faith centered and disciplined education instills within the students not only lessons on how to do but also and more importantly how to be.

As a member of the school board, I am pleased with how the school is developing and feel compelled to spread the word and invite others to visit Southington Catholic and hopefully experience the benefits of a Catholic education.

Catholic education does not come without sacrifice, but the benefits far exceed the cost.  I have made a number of good family friendships and have watched, with pride, as the graduates move forward in life equipped with both biblical lessons, a foundation of Catholic identity, and robust academics.
