REDMAN CONVENTION. 4 p.m. opening ceremony on Friday at the Crowne Plaza in Southbury, followed by the memorial service, the Past Great Sachems Association meeting, and the hospitality room. Session re-convenes on Saturday at 9 a.m. with lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m. and happy hour at 5 p.m., followed by the banquet and entertainment at 6:30 p.m. Members contact Chairman David L. TOUCH A TRUCK. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Southington Drive-In, 995 Meriden-Waterbury Tpk. The Southington Conservation Commission will be handing out free seedlings while supplies last. Tickets are $3 for kids ($1 adults). Sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary, Kiltonic Unit 72 and Southington Parks and Recreation. Rain date is May 15.

FRIENDS OF THE SOUTHINGTON LIBRARY BOOKSTORE OPEN HOUSE. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lower level of the library, 255 Main St. Celebrate the store’s 20th anniversary with a free drawing for book-themed gift baskets and demonstrations on how to make things out of old books. Scrapbooks depicting the store’s history and half-price books. Light refreshments will be served.
