American Legion Kiltonic Post 72 will be hosting a day of sewing on Saturday, April 16 for the Quilts of Valor Foundation. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., they will be welcoming volunteers at the Legion hall at 64 Main St.
The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing quilts. The foundation prides itself as being “about people, not politics.” To date, the organization has awarded 135,369 quilts to America’s veterans.
Come for the day, or stop by and help for a while. If sewing is not your strength, officials are looking for help with cutting and ironing.
