Registration is underway for the April vacation camp at YMCA Camp Sloper

YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington will be running an April vacation camp during the upcoming spring break.

Campers will have a choice of five great camps during the week of April 10 to April 15. Registration is underway for Fishing Camp, Horseback Riding Camp, Rocket Science Camp, Adventure Camp and Traditional Camp.

The Adventure and Science Camps are available for campers in grades 2-5.  Horseback Riding Camp is available for campers in grades 2–6, and Fishing Camp is available for campers in grades 3-6. Traditional Camp will be open to campers in grades K–3.

Campers will be dropped off at 9 a.m. at YMCA Camp Sloper and will spend the day participating in their camp specific activities until 3 p.m.

Participants at the Horseback Riding Camp will be transported by bus to Hayes Equestrian Center in Plantsville to learn riding and grooming skills between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

The camp is open to members and non-members. Full members of the Southington or Cheshire YMCAs will receive a discounted price, but all other YMCA Members and Non members will pay the program member rate.

There is no bus transportation provided for this week of camp.  Early morning and afternoon care is available at YMCA Camp Sloper throughout the entire week for an additional fee.

For extended care participants, morning drop off can be anytime after 6:30 a.m., but pickup must be by 5:30 p.m.
