Yolande S. (Bergeron) Plourd died on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016

Yolande S. (Bergeron) Plourd, 87, of Southington and formerly of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. She had been the loving wife of the late Vincent Plourd for nearly 47 years.

Born July 8, 1928 in New Britain to the late Olivier and Lucie (Beaulieu) Bergeron, she had been a longtime New Britain resident before moving to Southington.

Yolande loved antiques, her cats, fresh flowers and most of all her family.

She is survived by two sons: Russell Plourd and his wife Laurie of Southington and Jerry Plourd of Southington; 5 grandchildren: Amy Crain and her husband Rob of PA; Kevin Plourd of Southington; Michael Plourd and his wife Samantha of MA; Tina Henn and her husband Scott of Bristol and Michelle Plourd and Travis White of Southington and 4 great-granddaughters. Morgan, Autumn, Ashlyn and Makenna.  She also leaves behind her sister Doris Jarvis of Newington and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Linda Plourd and her sister Lilianne “Bill” Chamberland.

Yolande’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff on the 9th floor at Hartford Hospital and on the 2nd floor in the Conklin Building for their compassion and excellent care.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. from the Plantsville Funeral Home with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington.
