Four wins in a row spells a 5-1-0 regular season record for the Hall-Southington ice hockey team. On Wednesday, Jan. 6, the Warrior-Knights continued their momentum with a 5-0 shut out over Division III Trinity Catholic, 5-0, at Terry Conners Ice Rink in Stamford.
Jarod Florian paced the attack with two goals and two assists. The first score came late in the first period and the second came early in the third.
Jeremy Fortin also just missed the hat trick with two goals in the game, scoring midway through the second period and late in the third.
Miles Aronow added a goal of his own midway through the third period. Caelan Booth (2), Paul Gambardella, and Jack Rivers had assists.
The Warrior-Knights out-shot the Crusaders, 25-22, and Adam Foust earned his second shutout of the season with 22 saves in the goal. Zach Lockwood had 20 saves for Trinity Catholic.
The Warrior-Knights were scheduled to play Kennedy Catholic-Somers of New York on Saturday, but the game was canceled.
Hall-Southington is currently second in the CIAC Division III rankings behind Westhill-Stamford (5-0-2). The Warrior Knights are undefeated (4-0) in division one and 1-1 against division two opponents.
This week, the Warrior-Knights will return to Veterans Memorial Ice Rink for their second and third home games of the season when they host Lyman Hall-H-K-Coginchaug (3-1-1) on Wednesday, Jan. 13 and Rockville-Bolton-Coventry-RHAM (1-4-0) on Saturday, Jan. 16.
