Tariq Farid, Founder and CEO of Edible Arrangements International, will share his expertise with Southington business owners this month, leading a forum on “Building a Brand.”
On Jan. 12, The Southington Economic Development Department and the Southington Chamber of Commerce will host the business owner, who started his company in East Haven in 1999.
Now with more than 1,200 stores worldwide, Farid will join Chamber members and local business owners for breakfast at Hawk’s Landing Country Club, where he will offer advice and experiences for founding and expanding a successful franchise.
“Tariq Farid is an accomplished business man who will share his story and offer insight to other Southington representatives on how they can Build a Big Brand,” said Liz Francis, Executive Director of the Chamber.
Attendees will also be encouraged to network with business owners and potential customers after hearing advice from Farid.
“The Business Forum is an opportunity for [business owners] to learn new techniques and tips from other leaders,” said Francis.
The Chamber hosts business forums regularly, with two upcoming sessions on April 26 and June 14. The forums are supported by the Southington Economic Development Department, and encourage cooperation between the town and businesses.
“It is vital that our municipality support our business community at all levels,” said Town Councilor Dawn Miceli.
“With the current business environment, it is all-imperative that local professionals have an opportunity to network,” said Miceli, “and this type of event certainly lends itself to that objective.”
The event is complimentary for the first two representatives from each business. Additional guests will be asked to provide a $15 donation to Southington Community Services.
The event will be held at 7:15a.m. at Hawk’s Landing Country Club on Jan. 12 with a buffet-style breakfast.
