A home invasion drew police attention on Monday, Jan. 4 when a home on Meriden Waterbury Turnpike reported a home invasion. At 6:41 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, police received a call from Daniel Morin, 43, of 735 Meriden Waterbury Tpk. which sparked the investigation.
Police reported that Morin was in his home, along with a female, when three individual dressed all in black with gloves and masks forced their way into the home. All three individuals had handguns. Morin attempted to confront the intruders, and an altercation ensued.
During the altercation, one of the intruders fired two shots. Morin was struck in the upper arm.
The intruders moved about the house before fleeing on foot. Officers responded with a K-9 unit and checked the area. The suspects were not located.
Police reported that Morin suffered non-life threatening injuries. At this time it is unknown what, if anything, was taken from the home.
Detectives remain on the scene, and the investigation is active.
