The Summit At Plantsville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center honored their veterans in several ways on Veterans Day.

The day started off with a specially made and festive breakfast, which included a number of veterans from the VFW. Nearly 40 veterans served to kick off the festivities.

In the afternoon, veterans from The Marine Corps League of Southington directed a ceremony for the veterans with a key note speech from veteran John DeMello. An honor guard, rifle salute, and playing of taps were provided by the Marine Corps League.

Following the ceremony, veterans and residents enjoyed a patriotic recital by the Southington Junior Scholarship Organization.  All branches of the service were honored through dance and song.

Jerry Limmer entertained residents, and the day was culminated with an evening concert  by Gary Anderadis.
