Eileen Vertucci, 48, of Meriden was arrested on Nov. 21 at approximately 8:15 p.m. on an active arrest warrant and charged with second degree larceny and illegal use of a credit card.
The warrant stems from an investigation that began in June 2012 when a person assisting an elderly Southington resident with her finances discovered unauthorized ATM transactions made on the victim’s ATM card. Prior to the discovery, Vertucci was employed as a home health aide for the victim from April 2012 through June 2012.
The warrant alleges that during that time, Vertucci had access to the ATM card with authorization to make transactions on behalf on the victim only at certain locations within the Town of Southington. Investigators found 53 unauthorized transactions between April 16, 2012 and June 19, 2012, totallin $7,145.
Vertucci was processed and held in lieu of a $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bristol Court on Nov. 23.
