In honor of Veterans Day and Military Family Month, the Southington Community YMCA will be offering recognition to local veterans.

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, the YMCA will host a Veterans Day luncheon from noon to 1 p.m., where all veterans and their family members are welcome to dine for free. It is not necessary to be a member of the YMCA to participate in the luncheon.

“Each Veteran’s Day, we look forward to providing a great lunch to our nation’s heroes as a small token of our appreciation to those who dedicate their lives to protect our great nation,” said Samantha McCarthy, YMCA director of marketing and promotions.

Additionally, all active military and veterans will have the opportunity to participate in a free trial of YMCA services from Nov. 9 through Nov. 15.

Those interested in attending the luncheon should contact McCarthy before Nov. 6, by emailing smccarthy@sccymca.org or calling 860-628-5597 Ext. 350.
