On Friday, Oct. 30, Dom D’Angelo Way was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony in front of
the entrance to Southington High School’s turf field. A rock with a plaque containing a passage of D’Angelo’s life was also unveiled. Members of D’Angelo’s family and the Southington board of education were present at the event.
Principal of Southington High School, Brian Stranieri, read a short background highlighting D’Angelo’s career and accomplishments throughout his life. Retired war veterans concluded the ceremony by saluting D’Angelo and marching in unison down newly, painted blue and white stripes leading to the turf field from the parking lot.
